La Grande Metairie has tones to do on and off site, also its opposite to the Stones of Carnac - the most famous stone markings outside of those of Stonehenge. A fantastic setting in the parklands of an old Breton Manor the carefully landscaped grounds provide privacy with grassy pitches screened by hedges and trees.

Onsite there is a water park that includes - indoor heated pool, 2 different outdoor slides, outdoor heated pools and the just added (2007) new lazy river which is tones of fun. Also the site offers you a zip line trail through the main part of the campsite, mini farm, archery, mini club, pony rides, 2 play parks, crazy golf, tennis courts, football pitch, basket ball net + half court, volley ball courts, table tennis, ponds, restaurant, shop, take away, bars and much more!

There is an organised programme of events and tones of evening entertainment. With bar events every other night such as - karaoke, discos, parties and band performances there is no need to go out offsite for the night!

The site is opposite the Stones of Carnac, the most famous stone markings outside of those of Stonehenge - these stretch for about 2 miles. Grande Metairie is close to very sandy beaches which also have parks and toilet blocks along them - just 3km away (20 minute bike ride). Carnac is split into 2 main areas, Carnac town & Carnac Plage (beach). Carnac town is a large area on the side of a gentle hill - shops and bars are dotted all over the area; while Carnac Plage has a lively atmosphere and an excellent range of restaurants. Many local towns to explore.
